A very warm welcome to our guests at Little Eden, a restful and relaxing, riverside campsite for tents and campervans with grass pitches. We’re in a great spot if you love paddleboarding, gorge walking, cycling, seasides, fishing, fossil hunting, wild swimming, fell running, bird watching, archaeology or even Viking history!

Pitches are unassigned so you can choose your favourite spot.  The campsite is south facing so you get to see the sun rising and setting and everywhere in between! There are walnut, wild cherry, apple and willow trees.  We have a resident Kingfisher in the riverbank, Mr Toad lives in the horse trough and three shy deer visit occasionally as well as little owls.  The site is peaceful and rustic.  The star gazing on a clear night is magnificent with the sound of the fire crackling.

The River Brue runs alongside the campsite with damsel flies fluttering by and kingfishers darting back and forth.  We are on the Somerset levels so the sunsets are amazing as well as night time stargazing.  We have a private, wooden jetty where you can launch your own paddle board.  It’s a perfect get away for campers and nature lovers. 

A family run campsite 9 miles from Glastonbury Tor and 30 miles south of Bristol on the banks of the River Brue ideal for pitching up and doing some day trips nearby, getting the BBQ going, playing Frisbee in the evening (we have a games box you are welcome to dip into).

Be sure to visit our big sister site is 4 miles away, for amazing coffee and cake, hearty, tasty lunches, award winning cider, local produce and sublime ice cream head to the café bar of the winner of the Gold Tourism Award for Somerset and Bath 2023 – 2024 Wall Eden Farm.

Looking for a classic countryside pub established in 1856 is The Duck at Burtle is under 2 miles away and a local favourite so be sure to book. Also check out The Bird at Westhay renowned for their Sunday roasts. Or Burnham on Sea has great fish and chips, a long beach, a pier, a lighthouse and a promenade if you fancy sandy toes and salty fingers.

Our grandmother and her 5 sisters grew up milking cattle on the land.  It’s steeped in history and has had some amazing archaeological finds close by.  If you are into fishing bring your rod as bream and roach can be caught. The site is a dream for cyclists as Sustrans 33 cycle path goes right by the campsite.

Exploring Somerset is easy with Glastonbury, the Mendip Hills, Quantocks, Bristol, Bath Spa, Avalon Marshes, Cheddar Gorge, Wells (England’s smallest city), and the Jurassic Coastline in the surrounding area.

Directions

Use Google Maps for directions to Little Eden Adventures. What3words master.musical.titles.  At the intersection between Mark Road and River Road in Burtle you will see a flagpole and a stone bridge over the River Brue.  This is the turn off into Little Eden.

Drive through the gates.  If they are locked, a code will be sent to you, or just slip off the chain at the top to enter. Electric vehicle charging is available at Wall Eden Farm where there is also a Farmshop stocked with essential supplies, Moonshine, ice cream and sweet treats.

Little Eden is a rural setting in the countryside and there are insects and thistles and nettles and squirrels and rabbits and badgers, as well as the occasional deer. If you have allergies please bring medication as required. The ground can be uneven and the riverbank is sloped. Please take care as jetty area may be wet. Ladders and access or egress points may be slippery. Protective footwear is advised. Supervise children at all times.

Campervan Terms and Conditions
  • You, as the person making the booking, will be responsible for all members of your party
  • You, as the person in charge of your party, must be at least 18 years old at the time of booking
  • Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • It is vital that children must be supervised at all times. There is a watercourse with verges and ditches.  Supervise under 18s at all times.
  • Take care of footing at all times as the location is in a rural setting with uneven ground, verges, ditches and river along the south perimeter
  • Gas camping cooking stoves used at your own risk
  • Please act in a courteous and considerate manner towards us, other guests and neighbours
  • Please keep noise to a minimum between hours of 10:00pm and 7:00am – thank you
  • Please ensure livestock, crops and other farm related animals, equipment or facilities are not damaged or otherwise disrespected
  • Please ensure natural conditions are not disturbed. Trees and vegetation may not be cut or damaged
  • Please do not tie ropes to trees and drive nails into trees or other structures
  • You agree not commit any criminal offence (including, but not limited to, vandalism, carrying a firearm/weapon or using illegal drugs)
  • Please only use fire pits for fires.  Lighting fires on the grass or drove (road) is not allowed
  • Please do not use disposable BBQs as these are not allowed on site
  • Please do not set off Chinese lanterns or fireworks as can cause fire incidents
  • Please do not bring dogs (pets) onto land. Dogs or pets of any kind are not allowed on the land as can worry animals in fields
  • Drones and metal detectors are not permitted to be used on site without obtaining prior permission

DISCLAIMER We (the owners), its employees, volunteers, sub-contractors or agents will not be liable for any death or personal injury, or loss of or damage to property arising out of or in connection with the Participant’s participation in the self launch process unless that death, personal injury or loss of, or damage to property arises from negligence of Little Eden, its employees, volunteers, sub-contractors or agents.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We hope you enjoy your stay. Rubbish to be be placed in the designated bins please to minimise public health risks. BBQS and fire pits are allowed in designated areas only, however must be attended, raised off of the ground and kept under control at all times. Please only burn charcoal or wood thank you. The wood must not be sourced from the trees, hedgerows or fence posts on-site or surrounding areas. Do not burn paper or cardboard or other materials likely to give rise to burning embers. Please be mindful of the crops in adjacent fields when lighting fires. There is sand on-site in the event that it is needed. Fireworks and Chinese lanterns are not permitted to be used on site or adjoining land. Children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult while on site. Please obey the 3 mph speed limit on site and follow the one way system for entering and exiting the site. We ask that all campers are respectful of others. Any behaviours or incidents that are considered antisocial, from any member in your group will result in you being asked to leave with no refund. Our quiet hours should be respected between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Late arrivals will have their booking held for 12 hours after which, may re-let your pitch. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are not able to come as planned and we will do our best to accommodate you. Refunds will not be given in the 5 days before your stay. Inclement weather, late arrivals and early departure will not warrant a refund.

We accept no liability for loss or damage to vehicles or personal property while on site, however caused. Every effort has been made to ensure you can enjoy your stay safely but please be aware that the site is farmland. You should familiarise yourself with the general risks associated with being out in the countryside. The campsite has stock fences on their boundaries and around the open access area that contain barbed wire.  There are verges, ditches and the River Brue running along the perimeter.  The embankment can be muddy and sloped.  Only access/exit designated areas if using the watercourse. Please be sure that everyone (especially children) in your group are aware of hazards. We take no responsibility for accidents, illness or injuries that occur on site, beyond our statutory responsibilities. There are also thorn bushes, thistles and nettles. Footwear must be worn when moving around the site. Do not enter the pillbox (square brick building on left hand site when enter).  It is dangerous and forbidden to enter the pillbox. We reserve the right to refuse bookings to anyone for any reason at any time. The number of people staying in the tent/campervan must not exceed the number originally booked. We (the owners of the land) will not accept liability or responsibility for the death of or personal injury to any guest resulting from proven negligence of them. We will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to the property of any guest, including personal belongings, money and motor vehicles, however caused, during the holiday.

Waterway Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions  Please note all bookings are subject to our Terms & Conditions. If you place a booking online, via email, text or by telephone with us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions as set out below.

Paddle Boarding/Canoeing/Kayaking carries with them potential risks. These include, but are not limited to, the following: • drowning; • hypothermia/hyperthermia; • concussion; • dislocation; • contracting water based diseases; • various slipping or falling related injuries; • injuries associated with collision with other water users or water obstacles; • weather related injuries, including sunburn and heatstroke. Participants are responsible for their own actions and their involvement in the activity.

  • You agree that you understand the above risks and are accountable for any consequences.
  • Personal property belonging to you is at all times your sole responsibility.
  • You must act responsibly and sensibly at all times.
  • You must hold an adequate competence level to paddle (certificate).
  • You must at all times wear a buoyancy aid when on or by the water.
  • You must undertake a dynamic risk assessment and ensure adherence to safety measures, if unsure familiar self with guidelines from respective governing bodies such as Paddle UK and/or Canoeing Awarding Body.
  • You must be water confident (you must be capable of floating in the water supported by a buoyancy aid).
  • You must at all times keep with your group and follow your group leader’s instructions. You must never stray away from the group.
  • You must wear appropriate PPE clothing
  • You must take sole responsibility for your own medical conditions (if any)
  • Do not enter water if river in flood conditions.
  • You must wash your hands immediately after being in water/around bank, and particularly before consuming food or drink.

Use of Waterway Terms and Conditions

Important – Before launching you must undertake the following:-

  • Complete the disclaimer and provide contact details
  • Complete a passage plan of the water course
  • Familiarise yourself with points of access and exit
  • Self manage any medical conditions (make others aware of medical conditions in case of emergency)
  • Check the weather forecast
  • Hold an adequate competence level to paddle
  • Wear appropriate buoyancy aids if entering water
  • Hold relevant insurance
  • Inform someone you are going out on the water with your estimated return time
  • If paddling at dawn/dusk/night or in restricted visibility, ensure you have reflective tape on your board/clothing
  • Be considerate and do not disturb local wildlife and other sensitive areas
  • Cover up any open wounds or breaks in the skin prior to going out on the water and cover with a waterproof dressing.


It is essential that all those accessing the watercourse from the jetty are confident in the water and have an ability to swim if capsized – those who are unable to swim cannot take part in this activity. In order to make a booking you will need to be at least 18 years of age. Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times (on and near the water). Little Eden has the right to cancel or amend bookings. Bookings are subject to weather conditions. If Little Eden determines that the weather is unsuitable you will be offered an alternative slot.
